I’m a writer, teacher, and lifelong lover of stories. My work moves between folklore, history, and memory, exploring how old truths echo in modern lives. I’m currently developing two major projects: The Hollow Crown, a novel that blends Irish mythology with a modern family’s journey, and The Fool Who Knows, a compilation of my poems.

Poetry has always been at the heart of my writing. It’s where I learned to listen for rhythm, image, and silence — the same qualities that shape my fiction. I often return to poems as both practice and meditation, letting them guide me toward sharper language and deeper truths.

New Orleans jazz has been another constant inspiration. There’s something in its swing, its improvisation, and its soulful contradictions, mournful and joyous, playful and profound, that runs parallel to the stories I want to tell. The same spirit of improvisation and atmosphere that fills the French Quarter also runs through my pages.

When I’m not writing, I’m in the classroom, teaching English. My students remind me daily of the power of patience, imagination, and the human voice. I live with my wife, children, and faithful hound Murphy, who inspire much of my work and keep the stories alive around the dinner table.

Stories, after all, are not just something we tell. They’re something we carry.
